How Clarity Plus Works
The Clarity Plus system functions by precisely partitioning a single PCR reaction mix (containing sample, primers, probe, and master mix) into thousands or even millions of discrete, identically sized micro-reactions. For example, in a droplet-based system, these are tiny water-in-oil emulsion droplets.
Within each partition, an individual PCR amplification either occurs (if a target molecule is present) or does not (if absent). After thermocycling, each partition is analyzed for fluorescence. Partitions that contain amplified target molecules will fluoresce, while those without will not.
