      How It Works

      Our Lightning Arrester acts as a voltage-dependent resistor. Under normal operating conditions (system voltage), it presents a very high impedance, effectively acting as an insulator, allowing no current flow to ground.

      When an overvoltage surge (from lightning or switching) occurs, the arrester's internal Metal Oxide Varistor (MOV) blocks become instantly and highly conductive. This creates a low-impedance path, diverting the surge current safely to the earth. Once the overvoltage surge has passed and the system voltage returns to normal, the MOV blocks rapidly revert to their high-impedance, non-conductive state, restoring the system to normal operation without interrupting power.
