DOOR INTERLOCKING

      Description

Door Interlocking System: Precision Control for Critical Environments

      Overview

Our advanced Door Interlocking System is engineered to meticulously control access and maintain environmental integrity in critical areas by preventing the simultaneous opening of multiple designated doors. Ideal for cleanrooms, laboratories, secure airlocks, data centers, and hazardous material storage, this intelligent system ensures a controlled flow of personnel and materials, safeguarding your sensitive processes and assets.

      Key Features & Benefits

      • Intelligent Control Logic:
        • Benefit: Prevents cross-contamination, maintains differential pressure, and enhances security by allowing only one door in an interlocked group to open at any given time.
        • Feature: Programmable logic controllers (PLCs) or dedicated microcontrollers that manage sequential door access based on predefined rules.
      • Robust Locking Mechanisms:
        • Benefit: Provides uncompromising security and durability, suitable for high-traffic environments.
        • Feature: Compatibility with a range of secure locking devices including electromagnetic locks (maglocks), electric strikes, and shear locks, configurable for fail-safe (unlocks on power failure) or fail-secure (locks on power failure) operation.
      • Intuitive User Interface & Status Indicators:
        • Benefit: Clear, immediate visual feedback simplifies operation and enhances safety.
        • Feature: High-visibility LED indicators (e.g., green for unlocked, red for locked, amber for interlocked/waiting), audible alerts (buzzers), and optional touchscreen HMIs for advanced control and monitoring.
      • Emergency Override & Safety Compliance:
        • Benefit: Ensures occupant safety and compliance with fire and safety regulations.
        • Feature: Integrated emergency override buttons (EMO) allowing immediate unlocking of all doors in an emergency, seamlessly interfaces with fire alarm systems and building management systems (BMS).
      • Flexible Configuration & Scalability:
        • Benefit: Adapts to diverse facility layouts and operational requirements, from two-door airlocks to complex multi-door systems.
        • Feature: Modular design supporting 2 to N number of doors, with customizable interlock groups and operational sequences (e.g., fixed sequence, first-in-first-out).
      • Seamless Integration:
        • Benefit: Enhances overall facility management and security posture.
        • Feature: Easily integrates with existing access control systems, CCTV, time & attendance systems, and Building Management Systems (BMS) via dry contacts, RS-485, or Ethernet/IP.
      • Advanced Sensor Technology:
        • Benefit: Provides precise, real-time status of each door, ensuring reliable interlock operation.
        • Feature: Utilizes robust door position sensors (e.g., magnetic contacts, proximity sensors) for accurate open/closed detection.
      • Power Redundancy (Optional):
        • Benefit: Guarantees continuous operation even during power disruptions.
        • Feature: Battery backup or UPS integration to maintain system functionality and security during power outages.

      How It Works

When a user attempts to open a door within an interlocked group:

      1. Request: The user presents their access credential (if integrated with access control) or presses an exit button.
      2. Validation: The system checks the status of all other doors in the interlocked group.
      3. Locking: If all other interlocked doors are closed and secure, the requested door unlocks. Simultaneously, all other doors in that specific interlocked group are instantly locked and held secure.
      4. Access: The user can now open and pass through the unlocked door.
      5. Relocking & Reset: Once the user has passed through and the door is closed and secured, the system verifies its closed status and then releases the lock on the other interlocked doors, making them available for access (or returns to the default locked state).
      6. Emergency Override: In an emergency, activating the EMO button or a signal from the fire alarm system will override the interlock, unlocking all doors for safe evacuation.

      Ideal Applications

      • Pharmaceutical & Biotechnology: Cleanrooms, sterile suites, API manufacturing zones.
      • Healthcare: Isolation rooms, operating theatres, sterile processing departments (SPD).
      • Laboratories: BSL (Biosafety Level) labs, chemical storage, animal facilities.
      • Data Centers: Server rooms, secure equipment cages.
      • Industrial: Paint booths, controlled atmosphere rooms, hazardous material handling zones.
      • Security: Banks, high-security facilities, mantrap entries, cash handling areas.
      • Food Processing: Hygiene zones, temperature-controlled environments.
