Manual Call Point

      Description

Manual Call Point (MCP) - Emergency Fire Alarm Activator

Ensure immediate and decisive action in the event of a fire with our reliable Manual Call Point (MCP). Designed as a critical human interface to your fire alarm system, the MCP allows occupants to manually trigger an alarm upon discovering a fire, providing an invaluable first line of defense when every second counts.

      Key Features:

      • Instant Activation: Engineered for immediate manual activation of the fire alarm system, crucial for early warning.
      • High Visibility Design: Prominently featured in a vibrant red casing with clear markings ("FIRE"), ensuring quick identification in an emergency.
      • Robust Construction: Manufactured from high-quality, durable, and flame-retardant ABS or polycarbonate materials for long-lasting performance in various environments.
      • Status Indicator: Integrated LED (e.g., red for alarm, green for normal/polling for addressable models) provides clear operational status at a glance.
      • Easy Test & Reset: Features a dedicated test key or facility for convenient periodic testing and quick resetting after activation (for resettable types).
      • Flexible Wiring Options: Available in both Conventional (two-wire) and Addressable (loop-powered) versions to seamlessly integrate with diverse fire alarm control panel architectures.
      • Surface Mount Design: Designed for straightforward surface mounting on most wall surfaces, facilitating easy installation.
      • Optional IP Rated Enclosures: Specific models are available with enhanced Ingress Protection (IP) ratings (e.g., IP65) for outdoor or harsh environment applications, protecting against dust and water.

      Benefits:

      • Enhanced Safety: Provides a direct human interface to initiate an alarm, crucial when automatic detectors are slow to react or fail to detect certain types of fires.
      • Rapid Evacuation: Facilitates prompt alarm activation, allowing for quicker evacuation of occupants and minimizing potential harm.
      • Regulatory Compliance: Helps meet essential fire safety regulations and building codes, ensuring your premises are compliant and safe.
      • Reliable Protection: Offers peace of mind, knowing that a critical and easily accessible safety mechanism is always at hand.
      • Minimised Damage: Early alarm activation can lead to faster response from emergency services, potentially reducing property damage.

      How it Works:

      1. Activation: In an emergency, an individual discovering a fire simply presses the designated frangible element (break-glass or plastic) or firmly presses the resettable button.
      2. Signal Transmission: This action mechanically (or electronically for some resettable types) closes an electrical circuit, sending an immediate alarm signal to the connected Fire Alarm Control Panel (FACP).
      3. System Response: The FACP processes the signal, activating audible and visual alarms (sounders, strobes) throughout the facility. For addressable systems, the exact location of the activated MCP is reported.
      4. Reset (Resettable models): After an alarm, resettable MCPs can be quickly reset using a special key, restoring the system to normal operation without needing replacement parts. Break-glass models require replacement of the glass or plastic element.

      Available Models & Types:

      • Conventional Manual Call Point: A simple, cost-effective solution providing a direct alarm signal to the FACP.
      • Addressable Manual Call Point: An intelligent device that reports its exact location to the FACP, enabling precise identification of the alarm source.
      • Break-Glass Type: The traditional design requiring the breaking of a frangible glass or plastic element. A replacement element is needed after activation.
      • Resettable Element Type: Features a flexible, reusable element that can be pressed to activate the alarm and then reset with a key, eliminating the need for replacement parts.
      • Indoor & Outdoor (IP Rated) Versions: Specific models tailored for internal building use or for external applications requiring protection against environmental factors.
