Don't let power outages cripple your operations! In today's demanding environment, a reliable and continuous power supply is not just a luxury, but a necessity. Our state-of-the-art Automatic Changeover & AMF (Automatic Mains Failure) Panel is engineered to provide seamless transition between your main utility supply and a backup generator, ensuring your critical systems remain operational and your business stays productive, no matter what.
What is an Automatic Changeover & AMF Panel?
An AMF Panel is an integrated control system designed to automatically monitor the main utility power supply (mains) and, upon detecting a failure or deviation, automatically start a connected backup generator. Once the generator is stable, it transfers the electrical load from the mains to the generator. When the mains power returns and stabilizes, the panel automatically re-transfers the load back to the mains and safely shuts down the generator after a cool-down period. This entire process is fully automated, requiring no human intervention.
Key Features & Capabilities:
Our Automatic Changeover & AMF Panels are built with precision and packed with features to deliver unparalleled performance and reliability:
Automatic Mains Failure (AMF) Functionality:
Continuous monitoring of all phases of the main utility supply (voltage, frequency).
Automatic detection of mains failure, under/over voltage, under/over frequency, and phase sequence errors.
Intelligent generator start/stop sequencing with multiple crank attempts and adjustable timers.
Configurable cool-down and warm-up periods for optimal generator longevity.
Automatic battery charging to ensure the generator is always ready.
Seamless Load Changeover:
Motorized or contactor-based switching mechanisms for smooth and rapid transfer of load between mains and generator.
Minimal interruption during power transitions, protecting sensitive equipment.
Adjustable transfer delay timers to prevent load shedding during momentary power fluctuations.
Generator Specific Protection: High Engine Temperature, Low Oil Pressure, Over/Under Speed, Failed to Start/Stop, Low Fuel Level.
Integrated protection devices (MCCBs, MCBs, Fuses) for each power source.
Intelligent Control & Monitoring:
Advanced Microprocessor/PLC-based controllers for precise and reliable operation.
User-friendly Human Machine Interface (HMI) or LCD display for easy configuration, status monitoring, and event logging.
Real-time display of critical parameters: Voltage (L-N, L-L), Current (Amps), Frequency (Hz), Power Factor, Active Power (kW), Reactive Power (kVAr), Apparent Power (kVA), Generator Run Hours, Battery Voltage.
Event log with date and time stamps for diagnostics and troubleshooting.
Audible and visual alarms for fault conditions.
Flexible Operation Modes:
Automatic Mode: Fully automated AMF cycle.
Manual Mode: Allows manual control of generator start/stop and load transfer.
Test Mode: Enables testing of the generator and transfer switch without affecting the load (on-load/off-load options).
Robust & Durable Construction:
High-quality, powder-coated sheet steel enclosure (IP-rated, typically IP4X, IP54, or higher on request) for indoor or outdoor installation.
Ventilation systems to manage internal temperatures.
Ample space for cable termination and maintenance.
Clearly labeled components and wiring for easy identification.
Customization & Scalability:
Available in a wide range of current ratings (e.g., 63A to 6300A+) to suit various generator and load requirements.
Configurable to single-phase or three-phase systems.
Tailored to specific client needs, including additional control features, remote monitoring (Modbus, GSM), and specialized protection.
Benefits of Choosing Our AMF & Changeover Panel:
Uninterrupted Power Supply (UPS): Ensures continuous operation of critical systems, preventing costly downtime and data loss.
Enhanced Equipment Protection: Safeguards sensitive electronics and machinery from damaging power fluctuations and faults.
Reduced Manual Intervention: Eliminates the need for human presence to manage power transitions, especially during emergencies.
Cost Savings & Efficiency: Optimizes generator usage, reducing fuel consumption and wear-and-tear through intelligent control.
Safety & Compliance: Built to relevant industry standards, minimizing risks to personnel and equipment.
Peace of Mind: Provides reliability and security, knowing your power supply is intelligently managed.
How It Works: The AMF Cycle
Mains Monitoring: The AMF panel continuously monitors the main utility power supply for voltage, frequency, and phase stability.
Mains Failure Detection: If the mains power fails or deviates from acceptable limits, the panel detects the fault after a pre-set delay.
Generator Start: The panel sends a start command to the backup generator. It monitors the generator's status (cranking, oil pressure, speed) until it reaches stable operating conditions.
Load Transfer: Once the generator is stable and ready to accept load, the panel opens the mains breaker/contactor and then closes the generator breaker/contactor, transferring the entire electrical load to the generator.
Mains Return: The panel continues to monitor the mains supply. When the mains power returns and stabilizes for a pre-set period, it initiates the re-transfer process.
Load Re-transfer: The panel opens the generator breaker/contactor and closes the mains breaker/contactor, transferring the load back to the main utility supply.
Generator Cool-down & Stop: After transferring the load, the generator is allowed to run on no-load for a specified cool-down period before receiving a stop command, ensuring its longevity. The panel then resets, ready for the next event.
